There's a hole in my wall - and other stories!

There really is a hole in my kitchen wall.  Hubby is fixing a popped screw that messed up the drywall.  Meanwhile, he'd going to add electric in so my under-cabinet lights and shelving lights can finally be installed!  Alex is helping him :)

Can you tell I was tired?  It was like 10pm when we took this picture!

Yet Alex is wide awake!
After that is fixed, he'll be installing a travertine backsplash and new 18x18 tile in the kitchen and foyer.  Here is a pic of the tile against some extra pieces from our wood floors.  I think they look very nice together.

I originally wanted to put travertine floors in, but the ceramic was 1/3 of the cost.  Plus, we're hoping to move in the next 5-7 years so we decided it was a smarter financial investment to put in neutral tiles that would save money but give us a decent return-on-our-investment.  So travertine on the backsplash but ceramic on the floors.  I think it will turn out beautifully!

Oh, and I finally took pics of the shoes from Carters that fit Jacob.  He's so cute with shoes!

Lastly, don't forget today is Ash Wednesday.  We're foregoing the meat and dining on a Cauliflower Civiche on Tostadas with refried beans and Mexican Rice.  I'll try to remember to take pics if it looks pretty! :)

So that's it for now.  Thank you for reading!
