Due to the snow storm and our household ick, we were allotted time at the pediatrician's office today. Jacob's rash was confirmed acne. We may have another two weeks where it gets worse, but it should get better after that (nothing we didn't already know). Other than that, doc said I should sell my breast milk on Ebay because I'm sitting on liquid gold - baby gained (count them) not 1, not 2, but 3 whole pounds this month. That's double what they ideally wanted to see. :) Go mommy milk! He's also approximately 2 inches longer. 97% for weight, 95% for height and like his big brother, he has an average 50% head circumference. He's looking good!
As for Alex, there is no way to know if he's had back-to-back-to-back viruses or if he has a sinus infection. So the options are:
- treat him with amoxicillin just in case - especially so that he doesn't spread it to the baby (bad news) and it may get better A.) because it was going to run it's course anyway, or B.) because the medication worked; -or-
- do nothing and he may or may not get better for the same reasons as above.*
The second option does run that risk of Jacob getting sick, which is definitely not favorable for a young infant. But then again, the chances of him being contagious are generally highest within the first week of being ill and it's been a while. However, if they are subsequent illnesses, that could be another story. See where medicine has it's tricky points? Maybe this, maybe that. Who knows?!?!
Nonetheless, Alex's cough is much better today although the runny nose is still as gross as ever. Jacob sometimes looks less broken out and sometimes worse. He's got it all over his head, ears, scalp, chest and upper back. It's one of the few things that boys get worse then girls (acne that is). He's still beautiful - I love his brown eyes and cute baby face gestures! :)
Well, I made some candy bar wrappers for Alex's classmates for the big V-day (yes guys, Feb 14 is just around the corner). I'll share some pics with you tomorrow (or is that today? We'll see!). In the meantime, if you're like me and you're enjoying this Chicago storm from the comforts of your home, stay warm. If you have to venture out, be safe. And if you live nowhere close to this madness, count your blessings.
Good night! (or good morning?!?)
