VERY RANDOMLY, Jennifer

So this is it. My first blog and my first blog post.  I've wanted to start one for quite some time now, but I couldn't decide about what to blog.  My mind is like one of those bouncy places... you know, where you take the kids to jump on giant inflatables.  I go from one side to the next, from thought to thought, interest to interest.  Narrowing down my field of interests proved to be near impossible.  So born is RANDOMLY, Jennifer. Random thoughts, projects, family moments, and more.  No restrictions. No rules. No box.  I'm outside the box, inside, on the rim, dancing the hokey pokey.  My only hope is that this works.

To start, I'm a mother of a just-turned-3-years-old boy and I'm due to pop out baby boy #2 any day.  I spent my second pregnancy as a high-risk for preterm labor mom, with a month and a half spent in a bed at my lovely local hospital.  I then spent 8 weeks on home bed rest (or something similar).  Now I'm 37 weeks and have no restriction.  Of course, baby hasn't popped out after all that craziness.  I hope to write about my boys, parenting highs and lows, and more.

I really enjoy card making and have a feeling you'll be reading about that quite a bit too, assuming motherhood gives me the time to do so.  I'll post photos of the goodies I've made soon.  I have favorite tools, tricks and treats that I'll share with you on this blog too.

Updates on family, thoughts, projects and more will all be included. Consider this my real online journal, possibly censored to protect the innocent (or not too innocent, depending!).

Lastly, I was in nursing school before being admitted into the hospital.  I had to withdrawal this fall and won't be medically cleared for clinical work in time to resume in the spring.  I spoke with the RN in charge of the semester I will resume in this morning and she said that she will call me back for the Fall (2011).  I think that is best considering I'll have a new baby and my toddler to tend to.

Did I mention everyone else you may hear about?  I'm married, so there is a husband.  I tease that we're a halfway home because my mother and brother-in-law both live with us.  We've had my mom with us 3x.  We've had 2 different brother-in-laws live with us 2x each as well as my younger brother live with us.  Since we bought our first place back in 2002 (or was it 2003?), we've lived alone for MAYBE a year, and that isn't consecutive months either.  So I tease, if you have no where to live, we'll house you.  (No, that isn't 100% true, but does seem that way sometimes).  Seriously, we are pretty blessed to have family with us at this time, especially during our child-rearing years.  They prove to be very helpful in ways we wouldn't have known if it were the two of us alone.  Just don't tell them or their heads may swell.

Oh by the way, I am often sarcastic.  Please don't take what I type the wrong way or take offense.  Otherwise this blog is probably not for you.

So there you have it, my first introduction to RANDOMLY, Jennifer.  I hope you enjoy it.
