We did it. We made it through a week without DH. The kids were pleasantly good. Alex had one time out all week long (yeah!). Jakey, on the other hand, still isn't a good sleeper and clings on me like plastic wrap to a bowl (not the cheap kind, either). But in the end, we kept busy with the zoo, play dates, school, etc. The best plan was to keep the kids busy and exert as much energy as possible. It helped get everyone tired enough to sleep after a quick Skype with daddy in the evening.
DH flew home Friday night and we headed out the FL Saturday after Alex's soccer practice. The boys were ROCK STARS... no fusses, no fits, just good boys! Today, the kids and I headed to the store with to grab groceries after eating lunch with DH. This evening we hope to have dinner at Duffy's ($10.99 anything on the menu special... DH is thinking a slab of ribs sound good today). We're going to head out to the beach first. Alex is obsessed with sand - and scared Jakey is going to eat it all. So sweet of him to look out for his baby brother.
I personally could use a nice long nap. Jakey did not sleep well last night at all and I wonder if he is still adjusting from the travel. I've been trying to get him to nap for an hour now and it's not working. As much as I love him, his screaming and crying are driving me a little insane right now. That's just an occupational hazard for sleep-deprived moms, right? Poor baby... he is so tired, he wont sleep. Maybe some hugs...
The funniest thing of all??? We haven't taken a single picture. Way to go us! We'll have to do so and share. But first, let me give this baby some love. :)
