Yeah, there is tile! And it looks wonderful. I'm so excited to see a resemblance to the finished product! Here are some pics from the progress.

My brother-in-law mixing his 4th (or 5th?) bag of mortar. |

It's a messy job. |

Adolfo laying a tile that's been cut to fit perfectly. |

Alex's bucket of water - he's in charge of "cleaning" things. |

How pretty is that! I'm glad we went with the larger 18x18 tiles. It looks beautiful! |

This isn't the best picture, but it gives you an idea of
1.) how much they got done; and
2.) how dirty my house is! |
Kindly -
and as promised - they left me a "pathway" to the refrigerator where they did not tile (so I could step since the mortar was wet). Those tiles will be tomorrow's job. That, plus starting the grout. So far they used nearly 6 bags of mortar, four bruised knees (through knee pads!), several pain relievers and an icy-hot application later, they're ready for bed. We're making progress. (So it's not really "we're" as much as it is "they're"... I need to give them the props as that's where it's due!)
I can't wait to share
Day 3 progress tomorrow. Let's see how far it goes! I think it'll be a slower day since Adolfo will be working solo. I'm looking forward to sharing what does get done with you then.
Thank you for reading!
